Well, thank you for the reply.I found this:which seems to address part of my problem and then found info elsewhere thatsetting up task scheduler for monthly defrag will screw up the scheduler. I deleted the registry key for monthly defrag and then followed the instruct from the link above and this seemed to reset the task scheduler. It did not perform the first autotask I set, but at least I don't get error messages just by opening the program. Just too bad that I thought tasks were being done for 2 years when they weren't at all and no error messages.As for the other issue, sfc / scannow has never showed a problem and same for chkdsk. I just did a system image scan with 3rd party software which shows 1800 registry errors and other stability problems.
